UPDATE AS OF 9/10/2011 - RIDGEWOOD IS STILL CLOSED AND HARRY STONE IS CLOSING ON SEPT. 23DR FOR REMODELING. i USNDERSAND THAT WE WILL BE ABLE TO USE THE FACILITY AT LAKE HIGHLANDS REC CENTER ON WEDNESDAYS, BUT THERE WILL BE A CHANGE IN THE TIME. WHEN I CAN VERIFY THE TIME, I WILL POST THE ADDRESS AND TIME. ALSO FEE FOR THAT FACILITY.
Several members along with members of the Soaring League of North Texas (SLNT) have been flying indoor at the Harry Stone Rec Center in Dallas on a when available basis. In speaking with the director of the center, the center proposed a class which would give the group weekly access at a fixed time period year around. This has been in effect for about a month now and seems to be working well. Flying is every Wednesday from 1 pm to 2:30 p.m.. The flying class has exclusive use of the gym during that time period.
There are 2 requirement for a person to use the facility:
1. He or she must be a member of the Dallas Rec. This is a simple process of paying the fee for your age and being issued a picture ID card which you use to swipe in when you visit the facility. (This card gives you access to all Dallas rec facilities). The fees are based on your age and where you live (Dallas resident or not) per the following table:

2. You pay a $2 fee at the Harry Stone center on your first flying visit of each month. This will cover you for all flying that month. The next month is another $2, etc.
Harry Stone Rec Center is located at 2403 Millmar (corner of Ferguson and Milmar), Dallas, TX.
There is now a 2nd rec center, Ridgewood, for use on Thursdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Again, you must be a member of Dallas Rec. You pay one time for this card per the table above. This center is charging $5 per month. The Ridgewood Rec Center will be closed for renovations from March 1, 2011 till approximately March 3, 2012. If this changes, we will post new information.
